Looking for a fun and unique experience for birthdays, corporate events, bachelorette parties, bridal showers…or, just looking to get a group of friends together for a good time? Join us at the Vella & Co. studio for a candle-making party!

 

A Vella instructor will teach your group all about candle making, guide you through our wide selection of vessels and fragrances, and help each person create a candle that’s uniquely theirs. While you’re not pouring, there is space to mingle, chat, sip, and snack!

 

Candles set overnight with us and will be ready to pick up the next business day. Not local? We got you! We can ship your candles for a flat rate. Attendees also get 10% off the store on the day of the event.

FAQs

How long does it take to pour a candle?

The candle pouring experience typically takes around 90 minutes from start to finish for a full class, but the duration can vary from person to person and class size.  A full class is 16 seats; however, we can accommodate up to 32 for a private party. In this case, there would be 2 candle pouring sessions.

What does the cost of the class include?

The cost of a seat at the candle pour bar includes everything you need to create your own custom candle. Choose from a variety of fun, colorful vessels and mix your own scent! Our scent experts will guide you through the process to mix and match fragrances until you find your perfect match. You’ll also go home with a complimentary tote bag and matchbox.

  • 2 (12 oz) luxury candles: $65
Tickets also include 10% off in-store purchases on the day of your event.

What if someone in my party doesn’t want to pour a candle?

Private parties are pay per hour + per seat at the candle pour bar. We require at least 6 seats are booked for private parties, but it is not required for every guest to pour a candle.

Can attendees take their candle home with them after the event?

Before you can take your custom candle home, it needs to cure overnight. Pickup is available starting the next business day during open hours (Tues-Fri 11-6, Sat 1-7, Sun 1-5). Note when you’re making your visit that we are within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, and retail in the Short North!
We can hold candles up to 30 days. After 30 days, we donate the remaining candles to a local charity. If you are from out of town or can’t pick it up within 30 days, we’re happy to ship it to you for $12.

Is there an age minimum to pour? Are children allowed?

Children are welcome to participate in the candle-pouring experience under adult supervision. We recommend ages 12 and up for independent candle pouring. Younger children can enjoy the experience with assistance from an adult.

Can I bring my own vessels?

Our candle vessels are intentionally sourced and tested with our specific candle-making materials in mind to ensure the safest and best-performing burn. Due to safety reasons, we cannot allow outside vessels at this time.

Can I bring my own alcohol or snacks?

Yes, food and alcoholic beverages are allowed for private events. We have tables at the venue for setup – please coordinate with our team if you have any questions or specific needs for the event.

Can I bring my own decorations?

Yes! We are happy to work with you to accommodate setup for themed or branded events. Please coordinate with our team if you have any questions or specific needs for the event.

What do I wear to a class?

No dress code! Whether you’re coming from work, date night, or headed for a night out after in the Short North, we will provide you with an apron to protect your clothing.

Where can I park?

We recommend giving yourself ample time to find parking in the Short North to ensure you arrive on time. There is parking in front of our storefront. Check signs for permit/meter street and lot parking. We are located at 1128 N. High Street, next door to 1126 Sushi and Bristol Republic on High Street.

What is your cancellation policy?

Private events are fully refundable with 14 days notice or more. Refunds will not be given for late cancellations.
