FAQs

Do I need a reservation to pour a candle?

Reservations are required to ensure availability for our candle workshops, especially during peak times. To guarantee your spot, head to our Eventbrite to sign up for a candle class and find our public event schedule. It’s a fun and engaging process suitable for individuals and groups alike.

What if someone in my party doesn’t want to pour a candle?

Our candle-pouring reservations are for one seat. You’re more than welcome to share the pouring process with a partner, but please note they may not have a seat if the pouring is full! For the best experience, we recommend reserving a seat for each guest attending.

Can I book a private event?

Yes, we offer private events as well for parties of 6 to 16 (or 32+ with staggered pouring). Inquire about a private party here.

How long does it take to pour a candle?

The candle pouring experience typically takes around 90 minutes from start to finish, but the duration varies from person to person and class size. It’s a great opportunity to relax, socialize, and craft something uniquely yours. Your ticket also includes a discount of 10% off in-store products and build your own match jar set. So if you’re a candle pro or finish early, shop or hang out in our store lounge. Our location does not currently sell food or drink, but you are welcome to bring snacks or non-alcoholic beverages.

What does the cost of the class include?

The cost of a reservation includes a seat at the table and everything you need to create your own custom candle. Choose from a variety of fun, colorful vessels and mix your own scent! Our scent experts will guide you through the process to mix and match fragrances until you find your perfect match. You’ll also go home with a complimentary tote bag and matchbox.
Ticketing options:
  • 1 (12oz) luxury candle: $45

Tickets also include 10% off in-store purchases on the day of your event.

Can I take my candle home with me after the class?

Before you can take your custom candle home, it needs to cure overnight. Pickup is available starting the next business day during open hours (Tues-Fri 11-6, Sat 1-7, Sun 1-5). Note when you’re making your visit that we are within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, and retail in the Short North!
We can hold your candle up to 30 days. After 30 days, we donate the remaining candles to a local charity. If you are from out of town or can’t pick it up within 30 days, we’re happy to ship it to you for $12.

What is the process of the class?

Get hands-on experience and unleash your inner candle-making skills with this family-owned Columbus business. Our team takes you through the sniffing, mixing, and pouring process. You’ll create your very own candle with 100% soy wax and clean fragrance (free of paraffin, phthalates, parabens, and all Prop65 chemicals).
You’ll get started with exploring our fragrance library with over 75 fragrance oils. Our event leader will be there to give you recommendations based on your scent preferences! You can test different percentages of oils mixed together until the fragrance is what you’re looking for. Once you decide on your fragrance perfect match, select a vessel from our assortment of fun colors. Then, you’ll get to the guided pouring process!

Is there an age minimum to pour? Are children allowed?

Children are welcome to participate in the candle-pouring experience under adult supervision. We recommend ages 12 and up for independent candle pouring. Younger children can enjoy the experience with assistance from an adult.

Can I bring a vessel from home?

Our candle vessels are intentionally sourced and tested with our specific candle-making materials in mind to ensure the safest and best-performing burn. Due to safety reasons, we cannot allow outside vessels at this time.

What do I wear to a class?

No dress code! Whether you’re coming from work, date night, or headed for a night out after in the Short North, we will provide you with an apron to protect your clothing.

Will you start on time? Late show policy?

We start each event at the scheduled time. We recommend giving yourself ample time to find parking in the Short North to ensure you arrive on time. There is parking in front of our storefront. Check signs for permit/meter street and lot parking. We are located at 1128 N. High Street, next door to 1126 Sushi and Bristol Republic on High Street. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, you will not be able to join the class to avoid disruption to the rest of our guests. No refunds or class credits are given to late guests.

What is your cancellation policy?

Public events are fully refundable (minus any Eventbrite transaction fees) if canceled 48+ hours before class time. Between 24-48 hours before class time, the reservation paid value can be transferred to another class. There will be no compensation or rescheduling available for “no-shows” or cancellations that occur within 24 hours.

Can I bring my own alcohol or snacks?

At this time we are only allowing non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to be brought into our classes for public events. We do allow alcoholic beverages for private parties and events.
